Can't log in

Usually it happens because of
Tsunami, quake, flood
Wrong date and time in computer clock (e.g. Windows likes to modify time from time to time)
Your password expired
Computer was powered off for a long time
You have forgotten the password

Ask the Unix Systems Administrator

Desktop is so slow (and no icons/titles/decorations) after log in

It happens sometimes due to overloaded XFCE cache (this is a known bug-or-feature of this DM). To fix it
Log off or restart computer
Instead of logging in switch to console (press Ctrl-Alt-F1)
Logon to your Linux account from console with your login and password
rm -rf ~/.cache/*
exit (or press Ctrl-d)
Switch back to VT7 (Ctrl-Alt-F7)
Logon as usual
